Death-Wave is a hybrid control combo deck. It wants to utilize the combo of playing Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game. and a large 6 drop on turn 6. The deck wants to use the destroy mechanic to lower the costs of  Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game.. So then the idea is to play Wave WaveWaveOn Reveal: Next turn, cards in both players' hands cost 4. on turn 5 into a turn 6 Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game. plus another large unit. You can easily add twenty-plus power to the board in one turn which is what makes the deck so powerful. We will be covering what I think is the optimal build and then afterward we will discuss options for replacements and meta calls.

WaveWaveOn Reveal: Next turn, cards in both players' hands cost 4.

One of the cores of the deck, Wave WaveWaveOn Reveal: Next turn, cards in both players' hands cost 4. functions as a cost reduction on turn 5 to cast Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game. or severe disruption early on to completely hamper such decks as Swarm or Kazoo. In fact, I’d argue that turn 3 Wave WaveWaveOn Reveal: Next turn, cards in both players' hands cost 4. into turn 4 Odin OdinOdinOn Reveal: Activate the On Reveal abilities of your other cards at this location. is even better against those decks than Killmonger KillmongerKillmongerOn Reveal: Destroy ALL 1-Cost cards. as you make it such that they cannot empty their hand in one turn and are forced to just play a card a turn.

DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game.

The other namesake of the deck Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game. provides a huge amount of power for a reduced cost. The idea is that you use the destroy mechanic to help offset her costs as well as to generate value for your deck.

OkoyeOkoyeOn Reveal: Give every card in your deck +2 Power.

She provides more power to every card in your deck as well as fodder for Carnage CarnageCarnageOn Reveal: Destroy your other cards here. +2 Power for each destroyed.. She also will die if you play Killmonger KillmongerKillmongerOn Reveal: Destroy ALL 1-Cost cards. and reduce the cost of Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game..

IcemanIcemanOn Reveal: Give a random card in your opponent's hand +1 Cost. (maximum 6)

Simply put one of the best disruption cards for his costs. He serves as fodder for Carnage CarnageCarnageOn Reveal: Destroy your other cards here. +2 Power for each destroyed. and Killmonger KillmongerKillmongerOn Reveal: Destroy ALL 1-Cost cards. as well as making one of your opponent’s cards cost more energy. An excellent bargain for the costs.

The HoodThe HoodOn Reveal: Add a Demon to your hand.

You want to play him for the stats that he provides from the demon that he spawns. He is also just more destroy fodder.

CarnageCarnageOn Reveal: Destroy your other cards here. +2 Power for each destroyed.

One of the ways that you can destroy cards, add significant power for his costs, and reduce the overall costs of Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game.. Essential for the deck's plan to succeed.

Ghost RiderGhost RiderOn Reveal: Bring back one of your discarded cards (to this location).

He allows you to put anything that you discarded with Lady Sif Lady SifLady SifOn Reveal: Discard the highest-cost card from your hand. into play for free. This leads to you playing him and making large power swings on a location.

Lady SifLady SifOn Reveal: Discard the highest-cost card from your hand.

You want to play her because she specifically discards the highest value card in your hand. She combos extremely well with Ghost Rider Ghost RiderGhost RiderOn Reveal: Bring back one of your discarded cards (to this location).. You can discard something like Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game., Odin OdinOdinOn Reveal: Activate the On Reveal abilities of your other cards at this location., or America Chavez America ChavezAmerica ChavezYou always draw this card on turn 6, and not before. to get them back at a significantly reduced cost.

KillmongerKillmongerOn Reveal: Destroy ALL 1-Cost cards.

A necessary card for the meta because of the zoo archetypes running around everywhere. He does double duty in that he also triggers Death DeathDeathCosts 1 less for each card destroyed this game. by killing your Okoye OkoyeOkoyeOn Reveal: Give every card in your deck +2 Power., Iceman IcemanIcemanOn Reveal: Give a random card in your opponent's hand +1 Cost. (maximum 6), and The Hood The HoodThe HoodOn Reveal: Add a Demon to your hand.. A very necessary part of this build of the deck.

JubileeJubileeOn Reveal: Play the top card of your deck at this location.

She allows you to cheat larger things into play as well. She also triggers again with Odin OdinOdinOn Reveal: Activate the On Reveal abilities of your other cards at this location.. A good addition to the deck.

America ChavezAmerica ChavezYou always draw this card on turn 6, and not before.

You can only draw her on turn 6. This is huge in that you will never have her clogging up your hand before that and you will always know what your turn 6 draw will be.

OdinOdinOn Reveal: Activate the On Reveal abilities of your other cards at this location.

Large power for the costs as well as triggering effects from any of your On Reveal effects. A very good and necessary addition to the deck.

One of the main flaws with the deck is that it requires several cards from Pool 3 in order to be playable. The other is that unless you paid for the Atlantis Season pass, currently there is no other way to acquire Wave WaveWaveOn Reveal: Next turn, cards in both players' hands cost 4.. Overall data on how well the deck performs is limited due to these factors.
